UPSC Latest Exam Pattern 2020-21

UPSC New Exam Pattern 2020-21: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts exam for various services as Civil, Engineering, Combined Defence Services Examination, Naval Academy, and Combined Medical Services Examination.
Recently UPSC released an important notification for certain changes in the scheme of the main examination. There are also some changes in language medium in the Main examination.

The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages.
(i) Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective type)
(ii) Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview)

Preliminary Examination:

It consists of two compulsory papers of 200 marks. Each paper will be of two hours duration and based on MCQs pattern.

The question papers can be solve both in Hindi and English. However, questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level will be tested through passages from English Language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.

Candidates may choose any optional subjects from the above list.

7. Commerce and Accountancy
8. Economics
9. Electrical Engineering

Group-2: For Group 2 Literature exam may be given in the following languages:
Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, English.
